Wooden sash replication and replacement on modern wood window.

A poorly designed sprinkler setup caused these windows to be regularly sprayed. Over time the result was severe rot on the bottoms of all three window sashes. Luckily the window frame was undamaged and still in perfect condition. The original manufacturer was still in business (they often aren’t), but they would only supply their modern version of the entire window, which had a different look and fit to the original.

Instead of replacing the entire window frame, We replaced the sashes with exact reproductions of the originals, matched the stain, and left the existing undamaged frame untouched. This avoided unnecessary interruption of the original building envelope and costly refinishing.

The end result was an indistinguishable match to the rest of the house’s existing windows.
